Unemployment rate drops in Texas

Texas’ seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 7.6 percent in January, down from from 8.4 percent in January 2011.

The rate for Hood County dropped to 6.9 percent in January, compared to 7.8 percent last January.

The national unemployment rate is 8.3 percent. Texas has remained below the national unemployment rate for 61 months. January’s is the lowest unemployment rate in Texas since April 2009.
