First National Bank of Granbury, established in 1887, has been declared a “Texas Treasure” by the Texas Historical Commission. The Texas Treasure Business Award Program recognizes the accomplishments of Texas businesses that have provided employment opportunities and support to the state’s economy for at least 50 years. At left, State Senator Brian Birdwell (R-Granbury) presents the award to (center) First National Bank President John Henry Luton and Vice-President Jake Caraway. The program pays tribute to the state’s well-established businesses and their exceptional historical contributions toward the state’s economic growth and prosperity. “Texas Treasure” businesses have been in continuous operation in Texas for at least 50 years, operating the same or similar type business. The business must have a continuous record of employment and must operate as an independent, for-profit business.
