Early voting for next week’s runoff in the Granbury City Council elections will continue this week.
All voting will be between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at Annex 1, 1410 W. Pearl St.
Election Day is Tuesday. Polls at Annex 1 will be open that day from 7 to 7.

A 22-year-old Killeen man is in custody, charged with sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl in a case being handled by Hood County’s Crimes Against Children Task Force, according to District Attorney Rob Christian.
Trey Ethan Boone was arrested on Nov. 13 in Killeen. Christian said he requested the assistance of the Texas Rangers.

Members of Hood County’s SWAT team and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) benefitted from unique training scenarios at Tarrant County College Northwest Campus.
The Homeland Security-related exercises Nov. 9, aimed at preparing for major disasters, included personnel from 16 counties and was organized by the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG).

Eight felony arrests were made between Nov. 14 and Nov. 20. Suspects were arrested here, but their alleged crimes may have occurred outside the county.
They have not been convicted of the charges listed.

A 32-year-old man with a Granbury address was taken into federal custody last week in Stephenville during a roundup of people accused of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
Cody Daniel Cardwell, who was on Stephenville’s 1999 Class 4A state championship football team and was one of 32 people arrested during the drug sweep, had a 2010 Hood County arrest on his record – possession of a controlled substance, more than 1 gram/less than 4 grams.… Read the rest
