Gerald and Wilma DeRoos, of Granbury, celebrated their 60th anniversary with a family dinner at their home on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014. The celebration was hosted by their daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and James Bolton.

Gerald DeRoos and the former Wilma Driskill were married on Feb. 5, 1954 at the home of Pastor Cecil Gammill in Fort Worth.

The couple met in Fort Worth where Gerald was stationed at Carswell Air Force Base and Wilma was attending Brantley Draughon Business College. They lived in Fort Worth until moving to Granbury in 1971.

Gerald is retired from the United States Post Office.

Wilma was a bookkeeper for several companies in the Fort Worth area and later worked as assistant manager of Mitchell’s Department Store in Granbury.

The couple has one daughter, Phyllis, of Granbury.
