John Scott and Kathleen Ann Agor, of Granbury, celebrated their 25th anniversary with a relaxing lunch and movie date to be followed this summer with a trip to Napa Valley, Calif.
John Scott Agor and the former Kathleen Ann Koenig were married on May 13, 1989 in the backyard of the bride’s mother in Lafayette, Ind. They renewed their vows on their 10th anniversary at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Lake Ariel, Pa.
John entered the U.S. Army as a commissioned officer on May 12, 1989. The couple moved to Alabama within days of the wedding so John could begin his service as a helicopter pilot. In addition to Alabama, the couple has been assigned to live in Georgia, Virginia, Texas, Pennsylvania and Kansas. John also served in Egypt, Bosnia, and Iraq during unaccompanied tours. He retired from the Army in November 2011.
After moving 14 times during the course of their marriage, John and Katie chose to settle in Granbury because they had always dreamed of finding their lakefront “forever home” in order to have fun and relax out on the water after meeting the demands of the Army for so many years.
They currently take walks on the dry lake bed where they used to have fun on their boat and jet skis. They hope and pray that they will enjoy their dream again someday on Lake Granbury. They love being part of a community filled with so many caring and friendly people.
Katie works as a teacher in Granbury ISD. John manages their investment properties and enjoys spending time with his family after years of deployments that took him away from them.
The couple have three sons, Timothy Agor of Granbury, Samuel Agor of Pennsylvania and Chad Agor of Granbury.
