Wilmer “Bill” and Kendra McDonald of Granbury announce the engagement of their daughter, Blair Turner McDonald to Sawyer Michael King, both of Dallas.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Patsy Cowan and the late Thomas Cowan of Cleburne and Lydia McDonald and the late Wilmer “Bill” McDonald Sr. of Fort Worth.

The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Johnson of The Colony and Mr. and Mrs. Michael King of Colorado Springs, Colo.

He is the grandson of Mr. James Hay and the late Leta Hay of Phoenix, Ariz., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson of Azle and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Houston of Amarillo.

The bride-elect is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She is employed as a private nanny in Dallas.

The future groom is a graduate of Texas Tech University at Lubbock with a Bachelor of Science degree in public relations. He is employed as a senior account executive with Federal Express in Dallas.

The couple will be married at Piazza in the Village in Colleyville on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012.
