Laura Elizabeth Lucas of Arlington, Va. and Nikhil Sanjay Palekar of Arlington, Va. were united in marriage on Saturday, May 4, 2013, overlooking Lake Travis at Rough Hollow Pavilion in Lakeway.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents. The Rev. Mary Gracely officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mitch and Sarilyn Lucas of Granbury. Grandparents of the bride are Charlie and Maxene Low of San Angelo and Ken and Betty Lucas of Granbury.
The groom is the son of Sanjay and Indira Palekar of Grafton, Ohio. Grandmother of the groom is Saroja Krishnaswamy of Grafton, Ohio.
Readers were Julie Enlow, sister of the bride, and Rakhee Palekar and Sunita Palekar Joergensen, both sisters of the groom. Flower girls were nieces Elizabeth Enlow, Clara Enlow and Aanya Melamud.
The bride’s nephew, Noah Enlow served as Ringbearer. Ushers were Mark Aziz, Ryan Compton, Greg Lucas, cousin of the bride and Bastian Palekar Joergensen, brother-in-law of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Rough Hollow Pavilion. Prior to the wedding, the bride’s parents hosted a BBQ dinner at The County Line on the Hill in Austin. The groom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at The Clay Pit in Austin.
The bride is a graduate of Granbury High School, The University of Texas and Duke University School of Law. She is an attorney with Vinson and Elkins in Washington, D.C.
The groom is a graduate of Lake Ridge Academy, Johns Hopkins University and Duke University School of Law. He is CEO of Nveloped in Arlington, Va.
Following a wedding trip to Italy, the couple resides in Arlington, Va.
