Sara Nicole Johnson and Nicholas Dean Messina were united in marriage on Nov. 17, 2012 during a sunset ceremony at the OW Ranch in Granbury. Pastor Bill Boyd officiated the ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Mike Johnson, and mother and stepfather, Allison and Byron Bolton. Paternal grandparents attending were Wanda Underwood and James and Vicky Johnson. Maternal grandparents attending were Troy and Linda Gaffey. She is the grandaughter of the late Dee Gaffey.
Sara is a 2007 graduate of Granbury High School and is a magnum cum laude graduate of the University of Houston where she earned a Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies. She is employed as a second grade school teacher in the Garland Independent School District.
The groom is the son of Judge Vincent J. and Margie R. Messina. He is the grandson of Rusty and Jo Beth Ross of Pecan Plantation, and the late Theodore J. and Tommie Day-Messina.
He is a 2005 graduate of Granbury High School and is a 2009 graduate of Baylor University in Waco where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He earned a Juris Doctorate in 2011 from South Texas College of Law and is employed as an associate attorney with HKM Attorneys in Dallas.
Following the wedding, a reception catered by Chef Grady Spears was held at the OW Ranch. The couple will reside in Dallas.
