WAPLES BAPTIST CHURCH PLANS ANNUAL SCHOOL RALLY
Waples Baptist Church will have its annual Back to School Rally on Friday evening, Aug. 15 from 6:30-8:30.
Activities include cooking out hot dogs, puppet show, prizes, games and goodies to help get kids ready for the new school year.

ISRAELI MISSIONARIES WILL SPEAK ON CONFLICT
Missionaries Richard and Carolyn Hyde, of Israel, will share their knowledge of the conflict in Galilee at a community program in Granbury Aug. 22.
“The Hyde family literally lives where they can watch the bombing across the sea from their home,” said Julia Pannell of Granbury.
The program is from 7-8 p.m. at Brazos Covenant Ministries, 1950 Acton Highway.
A time of fellowship will follow the presentation. Refreshments will be served.
All ages are invited to bring families and friends. Everyone will have the opportunity to worship “Israeli” style.

BIBLICAL COUNSELING AND DISCIPLESHIP CONFERENCE
Registration is under way for the fifth annual Biblical Counseling and Discipleship Conference will be presented by Grace Bible church over three weekends this fall. The program runs Sept. 26-17, Oct. 24-25 and Nov. 14-15.
The September program features the teaching of Rev. Randy Patten. He is director of training and advancement for the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), formerly known as the National Association fo Nouthetic Counselor (NANC). He was executive director of NANC for 16 years before assuming his current duties.
Patten has been involved in training biblical counselors for more than 30 years.
The speakers will be teaching ways to apply Scripture in your life and how to help minister God’s word to those who are in need.
Some topics include change, marriage, parenting, depression, communication, anger, worry and forgiveness.

The session will be held each weekend on Friday from 5-10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The cost for all three sessions is $100, increasing to $125 when paid after Aug. 31.
Snacks are provided during the conference and lunch is included on Saturday.
