The Rancho Brazos Community Center recently received the gift of a Little Free Library from the Friends of the Library of Hood County. Six-year-old Sammy Martinez appears delighted with his literary choice of the day. The center’s new attraction is attached to the outside of the building in a charming little house structure handcrafted by Earl Haberkamp. Little Free Library is an international neighborhood book exchange with a mission to provide a place to meet to explore common interests and share the joy of reading. Anyone can use the Little Free Library, and participants are encouraged to take anything they would like to read, then share it by passing it on to a friend or returning it to any Little Free Library. It’s suggested that notes are left in the books so participants can see who has given and read the books.
