Operation School Supplies Resource Fair set for Aug. 14

August 2, 2014

This year’s Operation School Supplies Resource Fair has a lot to offer students who are headed back to school later this month.

Parents and guardians who have registered to receive school supplies for qualified students can pick up their supply packets at the resource fair, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Granbury Resort Conference Center on Pearl Street.

Many other services will be offered at the resource fair, including haircuts, vision tests and immunizations.

Ruth’s Place will be at the fair to provide student athletes with free physicals. The Granbury Police Department will offer finger printing.

There will also be many local service organizations on hand, including the Children’s Advocacy Center, Salvation Army, Jobs For Life, Neighbors Feeding Neighbors, Brazos Pregnancy Center and Texas Workforce Center.

Students will have opportunities to sign up for after-school programs, like Scouting, YMCA programs, and the Boys and Girls Club of Hood County.

The annual event is sure to include photo opportunities with costumed characters, refreshments and a few surprises.
