AMS student competes at regional spelling bee

March 26, 2014

Tiffany Wynne, a sixth-grader at Acton Middle School, finished in the top 10 of the regional spelling bee last week at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.

Wynne finished seventh among more than 30 contestants at the competition. She had progressed to the 12th round when she was eliminated.

In February, Wynne won at the area level for the second straight year. That contest pitted campus-level winners from seven Granbury campuses. She and Lauren Aramburu, a fifth-grader at Oak Woods School, battled for 22 rounds before she emerged the victor.
