Tolar pole vaulters thinking ’14 return

Tolar’s two state meet qualifiers in pole vault didn’t earn a medal over the weekend, but both are confident that they will have another chance to return to Austin.

Tolar junior Reagon Mabery was a foot and a half below the eventual winner in the girls pole vault, while Rattler teammate Rodie Brister was 21 inches back of the winner in the boys division.Read the rest

Tolar’s Rodie Brister, a sophomore, is pictured pole vaulting at the UIL State Track and Field Meet in Austin Saturday. He finished sixth in the event, clearing 13 feet, 6 inches. He is one of seven competitors from Hood County to qualify for the prestigious meet, including two from Tolar, one from Granbury and a school-record four from Lipan.Read the rest

Tolar, Premier athletes reach NTHSRA Finals

Add the 2012-13 rodeo team to that list.

The squad qualified four competitors for the North Texas High School Rodeo Association Finals this weekend at the Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth. The event begins Friday and wraps up Sunday. Read the rest

Tolar vaulters have each other’s back

While going to state is an annual occurrence for Reagan Mabery and Rodie Brister is making his first appearance in the elite event, the two Tolar pole vaulters have grown to depend on each other in their ultimate quest for gold.
