With more than a little help from senior Tyler Hoskins, the North Central Texas Academy Pioneers posted their second district six-man football win in as many outings Friday, downing host Brownwood Victory Life, 44-18.
Hoskins scored five touchdowns, with one coming on a 47-yard interception return. He gained 234 yards rushing on 22 carries, and added 2 receptions for 53 yards.…
LADY PIRATE COACH SLATES BASKETBALL CLINIC ON OCT. 25
Steve Schmidt, the new varsity girls head basketball coach for the Granbury Lady Pirates, announced that Granbury ISD girls in grades 3-8 are invited to a free basketball clinic.
The clinic will be from 9-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25.
A parent or guardian must be present to sign a waiver at drop-off and to pick up the student when the clinic is finished.…

The Tolar volleyball squad – now state-ranked – held on to its lead in District 9-2A with a 25-12, 25-16, 23-25, 25-13 victory over Poolville Tuesday at home.
“We didn’t play great, but played well enough,” said Tolar coach Scotty Miller, whose team improved to 10-1 in district play. “Madeline Dawson had a great match.”
