Register now for Granbury Youth Baseball Camp

Registration is underway for the 2015 High School Youth Baseball Camp, which will be 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (with a lunch break) this Saturday (Feb. 21) 1 at Granbury High School’s Tidwell Field. Pirates suffer fifth district loss, 43-39, to Aledo

The Granbury boys basketball team (8-5, 20-7 on the season) lost by a 43-39 margin to Aledo at home tonight (Friday, Feb. 13) in the James Wann Sports Center at GHS. The Pirates needed a win to clinch one of the four playoffs berths. They still have postseason hope entering their regular-season finale on Tuesday night, on the road against Crowley, although they could end up having to have a district playoff in case of a two-way or even a three-way tie.…

CCA boys win to advance to TCAF state tournament

The Cornerstone Christian Academy boys basketball team sailed past Arlington St. Paul’s Preparatory Academy Thursday night at home in an area-round playoff contest, 52-34, sending coach Chris Eikenhorst’s Crusaders to the Texas Christian Athletic Federation’s state tournament. Centennial tops Pirates; Lady Pirates close with win

The Granbury boys basketball team (8-4, 20-6 on the season), fighting for one of the four playoff berths in District 8-5A, lost on the road to Burleson Centennial Tuesday night, 48-42. The GHS Lady Pirates (4-10, 12-19 overall) closed out their season with a 63-55 triumph over the Centennial girls, also in Burleson. The varsity Pirates’ next game, Friday night at home against Aledo, is set to start at 6:30.…

Tolar boys clinch playoff spot; Lady Rattlers win

The Tolar Rattlers (8-2 in District 10-2A, 11-14) nailed down a playoff spot Tuesday night at home with their 59-56 victory over Hamilton with two district games remaining. Also Tuesday in Tolar, the Lady Rattlers (11-1 in District 10-2A, 18-9 overall) also rolled over Hamilton, 52-36. The state-ranked North Central Texas Academy girls (16-3) whipped Benbrook 47-12 Tuesday night on the road in their final regular-season game, a nondistrict matchup. ). Lipan basketball squads take two from Gordon

The No. 2-second-ranked Lipan Lady Indians (9-1 in District 18-A, 28-3 overall) and the Lipan boys (4-4, 9-18) defeated Gordon in district contests at home Tuesday night. The Lady Indians beat Gordon, 71-36, followed by the Indians’ 83-21 victory in the boys game.
