4A Area 7-8 Meet – GHS qualified seven (5 boys, 2 girls) for the Region I Meet in Abilene April 26-27. Nick Doughty qualified in triple jump (gold) and long jump. Chris Richardson won gold in the 400-meter dash and Michael Milson won gold in the pole vault.

Five boys and two girls from Granbury will be advancing to the 4A Region I Meet in Abilene April 26-27 after qualifying in the Area 7-8 Meet Wednesday and Thursday in Joshua. Nick Doughty qualified in two events, winning gold in the triple jump and advancing in the long jump (fourth). Pirate golfers headed to state
The Granbury High boys golf team has qualified for the 4A State Tournament for the first time since 2002 after finishing the two-day Region I Tournament in second place. Granbury shot 611 (306-305) over two days, trailing only Trophy Club Nelson at 600 (303-297). Both teams will advance to the state tournament in Austin April 29-30. Also for the Pirates, Travis Benson successfully defended his individual regional championship, winning in a playoff after shooting even-par 142 for two rounds.… Read the rest

The Granbury duo of Kate Bramlett and Elizabeth Morton won the Class 4A Region I Tennis Tournament in Abilene Tuesday, defeating the Brewer team of Katy Foster and Leah Munroe 6-2, 6-4 in the finals of girls doubles.
