The Granbury High tennis team qualified seven players for next week’s Class 4A Region I Tournament in Abilene. They were led by the girls doubles duo of Kate Bramlett and Elizabeth Morton, who successfully defended their District 7-4A championship and took the first step toward a return to state. Bramlett and Morton defeated teammates Alex Jenny and Keelyn Taylor in the finals, meaning Jenny and Taylor will be joining them at regionals.… Read the rest

The Granbury Pirates are making their sixth consecutive regional appearance after finishing second at the District 7-4A Tournament on Pecan Valley’s River Course Wednesday and Thursday. The Pirates No. 1 squad posted a two-day total of 618 (308-310). Aledo No. 1 won with a 607 (298-309), and Aledo No. 2 took third with a 631.
