Blaze finishes in top eight in World Series

The Granbury Blaze softball team were eliminated from the PONY (Protect Our Nation’s Youth) 10-Under World Series in Highlands (near Houston) with a 5-4 loss to the Georgetown Pride Saturday. The Blaze finished the season with a 25-2 record after entering the tournament with a 19-0 record. In the tournament they got a pair of no-hitters pitched by Landry Karnes and Abbie Pruett.…

Father of Lipan hoops coach honored by TABC

Lonnie Gaylor, father of Lipan Indians basketball coach Brent Gaylor, has been selected for the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 2016 Hall of Fame Class. Lonnie was a head coach for 34 years, winning over 700 games. His 1996 Graham team was a state finalist, with Brent as one of its standout players.…

Granbury All-Stars compete in softball tournaments

The Granbury All-Stars recently competed in the PONY (Protect Our Nation’s Youth) Pinto 8-Under Sectional Softball Tournament in White Settlement. They finished 2-2 in the double-elimination affair. Granbury also had a team compete in the PONY Pinto Regional Tournament in Burleson. They won their first game and dropped the next two.…

SEALS swimmer is Scholar All-American

Granbury’s Daniel Fauber, now at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, has been named an honorable mention Scholar All-American by the College Swimming Coaches of America. The award was given due to his success in the pool and the classroom during the 2014-15 academic year. To be selected, a swimmer/diver must have a grade point average of 3.50 or greater and have participated in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA swimming and diving championships. …

GHS golfer ties for sixth in flight at FW Junior

Lucas Elliott of the Granbury Pirates shot an 84 Thursday at Colonial Country Club, finishing with a four-round total of 321 in the Second Flight of the Fort Worth Junior Boys Championship.
