Lipan girls win, boys lose in basketball playoffs

The Lipan girls won their basketball playoff Tuesday night, but the Lipan boys lost. The Lipan girls hammered Huckabay 69-25 in the regional quarterfinals while the Lipan boys were tripped by Throckmorton 76-60 in bidistrict. Both games were played at Eastland High School. Granbury’s girls and boys soccer games that had been scheduled for Tuesday have been moved to Wednesday, Feb. 25, according to GHS Lady Pirates coach David Winkleman. Kaylee Brawner 9th at state meet in 50 freestyle

Granbury High School sophomore Kaylee Brawner took ninth place with a time of 24.51 seconds in the 50-meter freestyle event Saturday in the Class 5A state meet at the University of Texas Swim Center. The Granbury High School softball team dropped a 10-0 decision to A&M Consolidated on Saturday, the final day of the three-day, round robin Lufkin Hudson Tournament.
