Lipan sending four to state track
Lipan coach Ray Michou called Saturday “the greatest day in Lipan track ever” as the school qualified four athletes for the Class A Division II State Track Meet May 10-11 in Austin. Finishing second in their respective events in the Region III Division II Meet were Lanie Roberts in the 800 (2:34.41), Catherine Thormann in the 1600 (6:04.41), Shelby Bontke in the 300 hurdles (52.55) and Jorge Hernandez in the long jump (20-7.5).… Read the rest
Tolar vaulters qualify for state, relay suffers heartbreak
The Tolar boys 1600-meter relay team was leading the race Saturday at the 2A Region II Track and Field Meet at Tarleton State University, but a meet official disqualified them on the third leg claiming there was interference with another lane, Rattlers coach Gregg Lee said. That means that Friday’s two state qualifiers (pole vaulters Rodie Brister and Reagan Mabery) are still the school’s only two state qualifers at this point .… Read the rest
Richardson advances to state for GHS
Granbury’s Chris Richardson has qualified for the 4A State Track Meet in Austin May 10-11 by finishing second in the 400-meter dash at the 4A Region I Meet at , McMurry University in Abilene Saturday. He posted a time of 48.57 seconds. Richardson is the first Granbury boy to qualify for state in track since Brad Gardner in 2004.… Read the rest
