GHS to play Grapevine in team tennis regional opener

Lady Pirates close regular season with win, set for playoffs

The Granbury Lady Pirates defeated Everman 25-10, 25-10, 25-15 Tuesday night on the road in their final District 8-5A volleyball game before entering the playoffs. The 8th-ranked Lady Pirates, improved to 12-2 in district and 30-9 overall while Everman is 1-13, 22-16. Granbury had already clinched the runner-up spot in district behind second-ranked Aledo. The North Central Texas Academy Pioneers were defeated by Fort Worth Covenant Classical Thursday in Fort Worth, 89-65. The TAPPS Div. III, District 2 loss dropped the Pioneers to 2-1 in league play and 4-4 overall.
