Date, site announced for NCTA’s state semifinal playoff game

North Central Texas Academy football coach Kirby Rasco announced early this afternoon that the Pioneers’ Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Div. II six-man football state semifinal playoff against Fredericksburg Heritage Christian School will be played at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, in Zephyr. Tickets will be $8 for adults, $5 for students.…

Lady Pirates playing in Stephenville tonight

The Granbury Lady Pirates will be playing in Stephenville tonight for another nondistrict basketball contest, with the varsity set for a 6:30 tipoff. Coach Steve Schmidt’s squad defeated Kimber Creek 48-30 Friday night in Keller to move to 2-0 on the season. They are also scheduled to play Tuesday night on the road, at Midlothian (6:30) before the Thanksgiving break.…

Lipan girls win Hamilton tournament, stay unbeaten

The Lipan Lady Indians won the 10-team Hamilton tournament Saturday, defeating Hamilton 53-33 in the championsip game to improve to 6-0 on the season. They defeated Gatesville 56-31 Friday afternoon in the semifinals, and  beat Salado 73-29 Thursday in the first round. The next game for the Lipan boys will be Tuesday at home against Zephyr.…

Tolar makes history in 34-14 playoff win

The Tolar Rattlers  led the entire game, downing Quinlan Boles 34-14 in Class 2A area football playoffs Friday night at Alvarado. It’s the first time Tolar has won two playoff games in a season in 11-man football, school officials said. Azle Christian tops Cornerstone for state title

Azle Christian posted a 114-64 victory over Granbury Cornerstone Christian Friday at Porcupine Stadium in Springtown to capture the Texas Christian Athletic Federation Div.
