Lady Pirates tie for third in Trinity tournament

The Granbury Lady Pirates tied for third place Saturday in the two-day Double T volleyball tournament at Euless Trinity. The Lady Pirates won two of their three games Friday and lost two of three Saturday. GHS opened the first day with a 25-13, 25-17, 25-15 victory over Haltom. Cornerstone Christian Academy drops opening game

The Cornerstone Christian Academy Crusaders fell by a 50-40 margin in their season-opening six-man football contest Friday night against Trinity Christian Academy of Willow Park, in a game played at the middle school field in Aledo. Tolar falls to Crawford in overtime

Tolar rallied to take the lead, then went into overtime before falling to Crawford, 42-41, Friday night in a thriller at Tolar’s Rattler Stadium. GHS JV Purple defeats Azle in football season opener

Both of Hood County’s 11-man varsity football teams open the 2014 regular season Friday night, Aug. 29, with nondistrict games.
