Pirates clinch soccer playoff berth; Lady Pirates fall in OT

The Granbury Pirates defeated Joshua 2-0 Tuesday night at Pirate Stadium to clinch a playoff berth and stay alive in the chase for the District 8-5A championship. Meanwhile, the Lady Pirates fell in a shootout to Joshua after ending regulation tied at 1. They remain in fifth place in district, chasing Burleson Centennial for the fourth and final playoff berth with three games remaining.…

NCTA boys, girls two wins from another pair of state titles

The North Central Texas Academy Pioneers and Lady Pioneers are returning to the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Class A State Tournament Friday and Saturday in Mansfield. The NCTA girls will be going for a fifth consecutive state championship after defeating Lubbock Kingdom Prep 55-14 Tuesday in Abilene. The Pioneers will seek a second straight title after getting past Lubbock All Saints Episcopal School 62-47.…
