Pirate 2015 football schedule announced

NCTA wins Henderson Cup

North Central Texas Academy has been awarded the Henderson Cup for the Class A division by the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools. Area fishing report

Granbury is being maintained full. The Brazos has been releasing water to keep the level constant. Muddy water has been pulled all the way through the reservoir. Catfish, bass and crappie are being caught in 1 to 6 feet of water in the backs of sloughs. If you can locate the stripers and sand bass and use silver slabs you can catch fish. Possum Kingdom and Bridgeport have risen significantly.…

Hutto named all-star

Kyle Hutto of Cornerstone Christian Academy was recently selected to play in the Texas Christian Athletic Fellowship All-Star Baseball Game. He was 1-for-2 batting with a walk, along with pitching a perfect inning with a strikeout and making a diving clutch catch at third base. The game ended in a 0-0 tie.…

Tolar’s Brister wins state pole vault championship

Rodie Brister of Tolar capped his high school pole vaulting career by winning a gold medal at the UIL Class 2A State Track and Field Meet at the University of Texas in Austin Friday.
