Sheriff’s Office: Suspect tried to steal church air conditioner

Jessie Frank Diaz, 27, of Lake View Drive in Granbury, was pulled over by Department of Public Safety troopers at Highway 4 and Loop 567 Wednesday around midnight.

He was arrested for an outstanding warrant from the Hood County Sheriff’s Office, according to Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Johnny Rose.

The charge, felony criminal mischief, stems from Diaz trying to steal an outside air conditioning unit from a church at the 2800 block of Lipan Highway on July 28, Rose said.

Felony Arrests

Nine felony arrests were made between July 31 and Aug. 6.

Suspects were arrested here. However, their alleged crimes may have occurred outside Hood County.

They have not been convicted of the charges listed.

Those arrested are:

  • Joshua Ryan Barger, 19, White Settlement, assault on a family/house member impeding breathing.
  • Mathew Woodrow Conner, 29, Morgan, possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1, less than 1 gram.

    Flat-screen televisions stolen from residence

    August 9, 2014

    Two flat-screen TVs and a laptop computer were stolen from a residence in the 6000 block of Lake Granbury Trail in Lake Granbury Harbor on July 31.

    The loss to the homeowner was about $1,400.

    Sheriff: Narcotics Unit makes $11,300 meth bust

    August 6, 2014

    A man was arrested Saturday and charged with felony manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, according to Lieutenant Johnny Rose of the Hood County Sheriff’s Office.

    Keith David Morrow, 44, of the 3500 block of Woodlake Drive off Tin Top Highway, was arrested by the Hood County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit Saturday afternoon.

    Cash stolen from office

    Sometime between June 10 and June 12 the office of the Whippoorwill Bay Homeowner’s Association at 207 Skylark Dr. was burglarized.

    Cash was stolen from the office.

    Robbery suspect now in local jail

    The suspect in a March 20 robbery at a Granbury convenience store was transferred last week to the Hood County Jail.

    Clint Cody Morton, 23, of the 900 block of Indian Creek Drive in Comanche Harbor, has been in the Tarrant County Jail on a separate robbery charge out of Benbrook, according to Hood County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Johnny Rose.

    This bloodhound, handled by Sheriff’s Office deputy Mel Boschwitz, was used Thursday morning south of Acton in the hunt for one of two male suspects in the theft of a set of jet skis. One suspect, Bryan Stafford, 47, of Granbury, was arrested when deputies stopped a vehicle on Gee Road.

    Man no-billed in Granbury fatality

    The Hood County July grand jury returned a no-bill in the case of a driver of a pickup that collided with a car driven by a Acton-area woman who died two weeks later.

    Marcille Manley Booth, 87, died on April 1 in the ICU at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth from complications of her injuries.
