Copper stolen from two businesses

Depriving someone of air-conditioning in this sweltering summer heat surely qualifies as a capital offense.

Granbury police are investigating the rooftop theft of copper pipe that was part of the air-conditioning for Bealls and Staples in the 300 block of Highway 377 East.

Both businesses had their air-conditioning systems back in working order by Thursday.

Authorities: Man with machete threatens family members

July 26, 2014

A man who made threats while holding a machete Tuesday was arrested.

The man allegedly became upset over a light being turned on at his home in the Oak Hills subdivision, Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Johnny Rose said.

Sterling Gene Eakin, 64, “was brandishing a machete and threatening family members,” Rose stated.

    Theft of watercraft is Crime of Week

    July 26, 2014

    The theft of two personal watercraft and a trailer is this week’s Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week.

    Sometime between May 23 and May 30, someone made entry into private property in the 4000 block of Rhea Road east of Granbury and stole a Yamaha FX Cruiser 7725 WaveRunner along with a Sea-Doo RXT-X 13760.

    Brother, sister arrested too

    July 12, 2014

    Sheriff’s Office deputies went to the 1500 block of Hayloft Lane in Misty Meadows near Emma Roberson Elementary School Monday morning to serve a parole warrant on Cory Ray Molder, 32, of Granbury.

    During the contact Shawncey Gail Molder, 33, was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension of a known felon (felony – bond $10,000) for allegedly hiding her brother Cory from law enforcement.

    Sheriff Roger Deeds displays some of the 32 marijuana plants 29-year-old Chase Leon Grubbs, of the 4000 block of Country Meadows Circle northeast of Granbury, is accused of growing inside his residence, according to Lieutenant Johnny Rose. Grubbs, who also had about 6.5 ounces of loose marijuana, was arrested and charged with a felony count of possession of marijuana, over 4 ounces/less than 5 pounds, Rose noted.

    A man and woman were arrested on drug charges after a late-night traffic stop Thursday at the corner of Highway 377 East and Highway 4.

    Brooke Allison Culberhouse, 21, and Gabriel Emmanuel Peleberg, 27, were found to be in possession of under a gram of methamphetamine, sheriff deputies said.

    A 44-year-old Tolar man who allegedly choked his girlfriend and burned her with a cigarette turned himself in on a felony arrest warrant, Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Johnny Rose said.

    “The charge stems from Mark Houston Crapps allegedly choking his live-in girlfriend during a disturbance on March 24 at the 8100 block of Hill City Highway,” Rose said.
