Aledo wins first regional semifinal volleyball matchup

The Aledo Ladycats defeated Canyon Randall in straight sets, 25-15, 25-23, 25-21, tonight in the first regional semifinal volleyball match at the Region I-5A tournament at McMurry University in Abilene. The winner of the upcoming Granbury-Dumas contest (7 p.m. start) will take on Aledo in Saturday’s regional championship game at noon Saturday for the right to advance to the state tournament next week in Grand Prairie.…

Tolar in Grandview tonight for bidistrict football matchup

The Tolar Rattlers will take on Bosqueville (7-3) tonight in Grandview in their Class 2A, Div. I bidistrict playoff contest. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Zebra Stadium. Tolar (8-2) qualified for the playoffs as the runner-up out of District 7-2A. The two teams met early in the season and Tolar won a 16-11 decision.…

Veterans Day program Tuesday morning at Granbury Cemetery

Honoring the bravery and sacrifice of all U.S. veterans, a Veterans Day program is planned at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Granbury Cemetery on East Moore Street at Highway 51. The program includes a fly-over, music, guest speaker District Judge Ralph Walton, veteran recognition and the placement of a wreath.
