Ridge Roberts performing tonight to raise money for nationals

Ridge Roberts, Hood County’s 12-year-old fiddling phenom, will be performing tonight during a show billed as the “Ridge Express” at the Granbury Live Theater. The show, to raise money to help his family take him to the National Oldtime Fiddlers Contest this June in Idaho, will also include other local entertainers including Sean Mitchell and Kristyn Harris, a Collin County singer who won the 2014 Western Music Association’s Female Performer of the Year award.…

No flooding reported so far; Hail, high winds aplenty

April 26, 2015
No reports of flooding, hail or wind damage were reported so far in the thunderstorms that just passed through Hood County, Sheriff Roger Deeds reported. However, there was golf-ball size hail in the southwestern part of Hood County, and pea size hail with heavy winds reported across the rest of the county.

EMC: No tornados reported in Hood so far; more storms coming

Hood County Emergency Management Coordinator Ray Wilson anounced at 8:45 p.m. Sunday that so far no tornadoes have touched down in the county. Local storm spotters are set for another line of severe thunderstorms moving toward Hood County, from Somervell County, as well as a separate line moving toward the northern part of Hood County from Palo Pinto County.
