Homecoming parade marches Monday evening

Purple and Gold will be the dominant colors downtown Monday evening as the annual Granbury High School parade weaves its way around the square. The parade marches off at 6:45 p.m. from the school administration building and will make its way on Pearl Street to the courthouse square. Helping nursing home residents

You can serve as a certified ombudsman, helping those living in nursing homes. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and complete a free training course. Hours are flexible. Jennifer Rodriguez talks her way to state

Granbury High School speech team members competed at the North Crowley High School speech and debate tournament Sept. 21. The showing helped one student, Jennifer Rodriguez, earn points toward advancing to the Texas Forensic Association state tournament in the spring. Fort Worth man arrested on stolen vehicle charge

September 27, 2013

The actions of an alert Granbury police officer resulted in the recovery of a vehicle reported stolen out of Hill County. Officer Michael Ingram ran the plates on a white, four-door Lincoln that he spotted on Highway 377 shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday night (Sept. 25). When he found out that the car had been reported stolen, Ingram called for back-up, followed the vehicle until help arrived and pulled over the driver in Cresson. Officers arrested Marty Vaughn, 49, of Fort Worth.… Read the rest

5K Run Saturday, Oct. 12, to benefit Joseph’s Locker

A 5K fundraiser is planned Saturday, Oct. 12 to benefit Joseph’s Locker, a food and clothing outreach ministry. The Joseph’s Locker 5K begins at 7 a.m. at Shanley Park, 222 N. Groups encouraged to join Halloween event

Local organizations are encouraged to participate in the third annual Community Wide Trunk r Treat at Granbury City Park,1218 W. Pearl St. Sponsored by Acton United Methodist Church, the festivities run from 5:30 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31.
