Male pedestrian struck, killed in Tolar Friday evening
A male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a four-door car that was traveling eastbound in the 9000 block of Highway 377 West in Tolar, near the post office, according to a DPS trooper at the scene and other officials. Firefighters are working at the scene of what was reported to be a grease fire inside Wendy’s in the 400 block of Highway 377 East in Granbury. The call came in to 911 at about 7 p.m. Employees standing by at the scene said that they did not think anyone was hurt.… Read the rest
Girl, 14, reported as missing runaway
Raven Shields, a 13-year-old girl, has been reported as a runaway and is missing, Sheriff Roger Deeds said Saturday evening. Deeds said a call came in to 911 at 9:27 p.m. Friday from the girl’s mother, stating that Raven had not returned to their residence in Indian Harbor from a visit to a teen center in the subdivision. Deeds said that Shields was last seen wearing shorts and a white shirt with a green leopard print.… Read the rest
GHS Teen Court squad competing Saturday in Fort Worth
The Granbury High School Teen Court team will be competing starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Texas Wesleyan Law Center in Fort Worth against competitors from teams across Texas, according to Hood County Substance Abuse Council Coordinator Rodney Casey. Thunderstorms, mostly after 2 a.m. Wednesday, are on the way with the chance of precipitation set at 90 percent by the National Weather Service in Fort Worth. Two injured in rollover accident late Tuesday night
Two Hood County men were taken to hospitals Tuesday night after the car they were in left the roadway just after 10 p.m. on Tin Top Highway near Roberson Court and rolled over, trapping them under the vehicle. A passerby lifted one end of the upside-down car enough for one of the men to pull himself free. He was taken by ambulance to Lake Granbury Medical Center with minor injuries, a relative at the scene said.… Read the rest
Jury selection begins in capital murder case
Jury selection began this morning in the capital murder trial of Kimberly Danielle Milwicz, 24, in the Jan. 17, 2012, shooting death of Gene Sabin, a 63-year-old Rolling Hills Shores resident. Milwicz is the second of three defendants who were indicted in the case. Justin Ragan, 24, was convicted on his capital murder charge Jan. 31 and sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole.… Read the rest
Four transported after crash on Highway 377
One man was flown by air ambulance to a Fort Worth hospital and three other men were transported via ground ambulance to Lake Granbury Medical Center after a three-vehicle accident shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 377 East in Granbury near the Highway 167 intersection.
