Tolar outlasts Godley to open 10-2A play
The Tolar Lady Rattlers continued their torrid offensive play by outlasting Godley 9-8 in nine innings at Godley Friday.
The game was the District 10-2A opener for both teams. It was also the second time in a week that the Lady Rattlers (10-7 overall) had defeated Godley, having won 6-1 the previous Saturday in the finals of the Perrin Tournament. … Read the rest
Rattlers finish 1-1-1 in Ranger tourney
The Tolar Rattlers matched their victory total for the entire 2012 season this past weekend with a 7-3 victory against Eastland in the Ranger Tournament.
The Rattlers (8-3-1) won one, lost one and tied one in the tournament. They fell 15-11 to Gorman and fought Hico to an 8-8 tie, just a few days after having defeated the Tigers 9-4. … Read the rest
Rattlers take title at Hico Invite
The Tolar track season got off to a strong start recently as the Rattlers ran to first place in the Hico Invitational.
The Rattlers scored 163 points to easily outdistance runner-up Cisco with 106.
The Lady Rattlers placed fourth with a score of 85. Hico and Whitney tied for first with 127 points each, while Cisco scored 101. … Read the rest
Tolar pulls away for win
The Tolar Rattlers moved within one victory of matching their 2012 win total with a 9-4 victory against Hico Monday.
The Rattlers (7-2) jumped out to a 5-0 lead and then pulled away again after Hico rallied.

Tolar tops field at Perrin
In one of the most offensive showings ever for the program, the Tolar Lady Rattlers captured the championship of the Perrin Softball Tournament this past weekend.
The Lady Rattlers (9-7) outscored their six opponents 78-12 in winning all six contests.
This included a 31-0 shellacking of Graford in the final game of the opening day. … Read the rest
Lady Pioneers storm back for third title in a row
MANSFIELD – Emily Britt didn’t have big lecture for her basketball team, just a simple message before the start of the fourth quarter of their state final against Selma River City Believers Saturday.
“I told them you either have to give me everything you have or we don’t win this game,” said Britt, who pulled off the rare feat of winning a state title in her first season as a head coach.… Read the rest
Rattlers win Tournament
The Tolar Rattlers continued their strong start to the baseball season by winning the championship of the Hamilton Tournament this past weekend.
The Rattlers (6-2) opened with a 4-3 victory against Gorman. The winning run scored on a bases-loaded to Alfredo Triana that scored Tyler Phillips.
They followed with an 8-5 win over Early and an 8-3 topping of Moody in which Cole Chism pitched a two-hitter.… Read the rest
Tolar track expects another strong season

Just ask Tolar track coach Gregg Lee.
Under his tutelage, and before him Mike Franklin, the Tolar track program has become regulars at state.
Last season, pole vaulter Reagan Mabery finished sixth as a sophomore. She was fourth the year before.

Tolar drops wild game at Millsap
In a game featuring a score that more closely resembled a football outcome than softball, the Tolar Lady Rattlers came up short Tuesday at Millsap, falling 18-17.
Along with the offensive outburst for each squad, the game went eight innings before the Lady Bulldogs won.
Tolar (3-7) had 20 hits in the loss. The Lady Rattlers were led by Kayla Bonnell, who had five hits, including a triple, and two runs batted in.… Read the rest
Rattlers 2nd in own tourney
The Tolar Rattlers continued their strong start to the baseball season by taking second place in their own Wood Bat Classic over the weekend.
The Rattlers (3-1) began the tournament with a 14-0 blowout of the Lake Worth junior varsity, followed by a 9-4 win against Rosebud-Lott. They suffered their first loss of the season, 5-3, when Waskom scored twice in the top of the seventh Saturday.… Read the rest
