Rattlers stumble to start 10-2A competition
The Tolar Rattlers dropped their first two District baseball games to 10-2A foes and Mother Nature.
The Rattlers (9-7 overall) trailed Rio Vista 6-3 when the game was called in the fifth inning because of lightning. They also dropped a 5-0 contest to Grandview.

Tolar win streak ends
The Tolar Lady Rattlers’ nine-game softball winning streak came to an end Friday with a 9-1 loss to Grandview.
Tolar (12-8, 2-1 in 10-2A) led 1-0 early. Grandview broke the game open with three in the fifth and fourth in the sixth.

Tolar has strong showing at PK Relays
Returning early from spring break, the Tolar boys and girls track teams competed in the Possum Kingdom Relays in Graham last weekend.
The Rattlers captured four medals and were third overall as a team with 66 points. The Lady Rattlers claimed three medals and placed sixth in their division with 39 points. … Read the rest

The Tolar Lady Rattlers ran their winning streak to nine games and remained undefeated in District 10-2A softball Tuesday with a 22-1 victory at Rio Vista.
The Lady Rattlers (12-7 overall) improved to 2-0 in district as Staci Ashley pitched a one-hitter.

Lady Rattlers capture eighth straight
The Tolar Lady Rattlers ran their winning streak to eight games with an 8-1 softball victory against visiting Lake Worth in a nondistrict game Tuesday.
Staci Ashley (8-3) went the distance pitching for the Lady Rattlers (11-7). She surrendered two hits and struck out 13.

Rattlers drop pair
Big innings by a pair of opponents were costly to Tolar as the Rattlers dropped two games.
In the final game of the Ranger Tournament, Gorman used a seven-run third to take the lead en route to a 15-11 victory. Then, in a non-tournament game, Jacksboro scored eight runs in the fifth in a 12-3 win. … Read the rest
Tolar lands nine All-10-2A honors
The Tolar Rattlers made a return to the basketball playoffs this season with a senior-laden lineup.
Five of those seniors were honored by coaches as part of the All-District 10-2A Team.

Rattlers win second straight meet
The Tolar Rattlers remained perfect in the 2013 track season, taking first for the second time in as many meets this season.
The Rattlers decimated the field at the Rio Vista Cow Pasture Relays, scoring 216 points to easily outdistance runner-up Venus with 124. Tolar boys won 11 gold medals. … Read the rest
