The Tolar Rattlers had their first District 10-2A baseball victory in their grasp.
Well, before Maypearl came to bat in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Rattlers took a one-run lead in the top of the inning, but then surrendered two runs in the bottom to fall 5-4.

The Tolar Rattlers’ District 10-2A baseball opener was spoiled with an 8-1 loss at home to Grandview.
The Rattlers managed five hits and committed six errors.
Corbin Wood drove in the lone run for Tolar (7-4 overall).
“Grandview is tough, and to beat them we needed to have production, which we didn’t,” said Tolar coach Darrell Hogan.

The Tolar Lady Rattlers suffered from a lack of offense and defense in a 10-0 loss to Graford Friday.
The Lady Rattlers (5-8 overall) fell to 1-2 in District 10-2A.
Tolar hurt itself with four errors that led to seven unearned runs. They also managed just five singles offensively.

The Tolar Rattlers made it a perfect 4-for-4 this track season, capturing the championship of their own Rattler Relays Saturday.
The Lady Rattlers also won for a second straight meet.
The Rattlers scored 216 points to easily outdistance runner-up Comanche with 151. North Central Texas Academy was third with 105.

Proving that baseball is indeed a team sport, the Tolar Rattlers had 14 players post a statistic in Tuesday’s 18-5 road rout of Itasca.
Five pitchers threw in the six-inning game that was called because of the University Interscholastic League mercy rule. They gave up just two hits and two earned runs.

The Tolar Lady Rattlers spotted visiting Rio Vista an early one-run lead, and stormed back for a 14-4 District 10-2A softball victory Tuesday.
The victory evened the Lady Rattlers’ district record at 1-1 (5-7 overall).

The Tolar boys golf team finished third at the Iredell Invitational at Squaw Valley Monday.
The Rattlers shot 391.
Two members of the squad finished in the top 10 individually. Corbin Wood shot an 87 for fifth place among medalists, and Walker Shelton’s 94 placed him ninth.

The Tolar Rattlers have a few days off for spring break, but before they got their holiday started they won a couple of baseball games, defeating Hico 6-5 and Jacksboro 14-11.
In the win at Hico, the Rattlers (6-3) won with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh.

In recent years the Tolar Rattlers baseball team has had a good showing in the Ranger Tournament, and this season was no exception.
The Rattlers won two of their three games, scoring an eye-popping 35 in their two victories.
Tolar (4-3) opened with an 11-4 victory against Gorman and followed with a 24-7 thumping of Ranger. They wrapped up with a 6-4 loss to Hico, a game in which they had a 4-1 lead.… Read the rest
The Tolar Lady Rattlers overcame an early four-run deficit to run away from the Lady Bullfrogs in a 19-8 softball victory Friday at Lake Worth.
The Lady Rattlers (4-6) pounded out 24 hits, including four each from haley Webb and Katie Keith. Carson King, Tatum Newton, Caitlyn Hall and Kayla Bonnell had three each.
The Lady Rattlers fell behind 4-0 after the first inning, but came right back with eight runs of their own in the top of the second and six in the third for a 14-8 advantage.… Read the rest
