Rattlers win 3rd in row
Once on the verge of falling out of playoff contention, the Tolar Rattlers are now smack-dab in the middle of the postseason race after rallying to defeat Rio Vista 3-2 at home Tuesday for their third consecutive win.
The Rattlers began District 10-2A with an 0-3 record.

Rattlers rally for second straight win
The Tolar Rattlers, just a week after being winless in three District 10-2A games, suddenly find themselves in the thick of the postseason chase with back-to-back league victories.

Tolar’s Keith chasing title
Katie Keith of Tolar is third in the race for Rookie Cowgirl in the North Texas High School Rodeo Association standings. She has 1,180 points. Taylor Shipman of North Hills leads with 3,662.
Keith is second in breakaway roping with 671 points, behind Madison Goforth of North Hills with 857. She is third in ribbon roping with 509 points. … Read the rest
Coaches ponder change
This season, the top four finishers in each district track meet will advance to an area meet, from which the top four go to regionals.
The area meet is all-finals. Eight competitors from two corresponding districts compete in one event, with the top four advancing. For example, the four regional qualifiers could all be from Granbury’s District 7-4A or Tolar’s 10-2A.… Read the rest
Rattlers get 1st 10-2A win
The Tolar Rattlers broke into the District 10-2A win column and subsequently handed Whitney its first league loss, 7-6.
The Rattlers (10-8, 1-3) scored three times in the bottom of the seventh. They had tied the game at 4 in the fifth, but fell behind again, 6-4.

Lady Rattlers slide into third-place draw
The Tolar Lady Rattlers dropped a high-scoring contest to Whitney, 10-9, in a District 10-2A softball game.
The loss left the Lady Rattlers (12-10 overall) with a 2-3 district record following three consecutive defeats. This came on the heels of a nine-game winning streak.
Staci Ashley led Tolar offensively, going 4-for-5 with a tirple and a pair of RBIs. Ali Isom added three hits with an RBI.… Read the rest
Rattlers win fourth track meet of year
Even a depleted Tolar boys track team is better than others, it seems.
Despite resting their 1600-meter relay in preparation for the Texas Relays a couple days later, the Rattlers still won the Goldthwaite Eagle Relays by a substantial margin, scoring 155.5 points to runner-up Wall’s 99.

Lady Rattlers falter late
The Tolar Lady Rattlers were dead even with visiting Maypearl Tuesday.
Except for the final inning.
Maypearl scored three times in the top of the seventh for a 5-2 victory against the Lady Rattlers (12-9, 2-2 in 10-2A).

Tolar falls to 0-3 in district
The Tolar Rattlers’ rough start to District 10-2A baseball continued Tuesday with a 14-1 home loss to Maypearl.
Three Tolar pitchers combined to surrender just five hits. However, six walks and eight errors led to their undoing as the Rattlers fell to 9-8 overall and 0-3 in district.

Rattlers win again, top own relays
The Tolar Rattlers continued their track dominance this season by winning for the third time in four meets, this time at home.
The Rattlers scored 209 points to easily top the field in the Rattler Relays Saturday. Whitney was second with 139.
The Lady Rattlers placed third in their division with 115 points. Comanche was first with 181 and Millsap had 118.… Read the rest
