Tolar’s basketball girls are entering the 2013-14 season hoping to find the consistency that eluded them last year when injuries late in the season contributed to missing a playoff berth from District 10-2A.

The Tolar Rattlers exhibited strength in shellacking Mildred a couple weeks ago, and received an award appropriately named for their performance.
The Rattlers were the recent recipients of the Army Strong Award presented by Texasfootball.com/U.S. Army.
Tolar was given the award following the Rattlers’ 49-0 win at Mildred on Oct. 18. It was the first time Mildred had been shut out since 2009.… Read the rest

The Lipan Lady Indians will be sending their entire team to regional competition in Grand Prairie next Saturday (Nov. 2) after finishing second in the District 16-A Meet in Goldthwaite this past Monday.
The Lady Indians were led by Lanie Roberts, who captured the individual championship. She ran the 2-mile course in 12:56.

Madison Prichard Warren led Tolar (11-19, 3-8 in 10-2A) with eight kills and two blocks, while Shelby Nunley delivered nine assists

Tolar’s stunning 49-0 football victory over Mildred – a Class 2A Division II state finalist last season – was cause for celebration, but head coach Mike Franklin was quick to tell his players that they still had plenty of work ahead of them in District 6-2A Division II.

The Tolar Lady Rattlers are wrapping up volleyball season in strong fashion, winning for a second straight match Friday, 25-21, 26-24, 25-17 at Rio Vista.
The victory improved the Lady Rattlers to 11-18 overall and 3-7 in District 10-2A. They have two matches remaining this week, last night at Whitney and Friday at Grandview.

The Tolar cross country team competed in the Thrill of the Hill Meet in Stephenville recently.
The Lady Rattlers were led by Morgan Thomas’ time of 17 minutes, 29 seconds over 2 miles. She finished 62nd individually.
Also for the Lady Rattlers, Shelby Newton finished in 72nd place, clocking a time of 18:29.

MILDRED – It was more than an ordinary high school football upset. It was an epic display of domination.
The Tolar Rattlers were issued a challenge to “shock the world” after they had been shocked in their last outing by Scurry-Rosser.
Tolar made it happen in dramatic fashion as quarterback Corbin Wood had 295 yards of total offense and Garrett Winston scored 25 points – including three toucdown receptions – as the Rattlers routed 2012 Class 2A Division II state finalist Mildred 49-0 at Asby Field.… Read the rest
Tolar head football coach Mike Franklin said most of his players with injuries were back on track this week and ready to play again.
