The highlight of my home tour was the young harpist Madaleine. We heard her Saturday at the Baker-Carmichael house and again on Sunday at the Cogdill House. Thank you, Madaleine.

To the angel or angels that left the Christmas card taped to our front door with a message and with gift of love contained in it, thank you so very much.Read the rest

A new YMCA benefitted only a small percentage of county residents. Road equipment benefits 100% of county residents. Make better use of our tax dollars.

JEERS to the City of Granbury for spending the taxpayers dollars on the Opera House! Not to mention all the dollars wasted on the fancy schmancy party thrown for all the Granbury elitists.

Cheers to the city of Granbury for keeping the restrooms near the beach and baseball fields clean and stocked with toilet paper.Read the rest

Jeers to Brazos River Authority, local politicians and other leaders and Granbury & Hood County citizens. Looks like we’ve given up on the Lake. It’s lower than ever. Now it’s just an eyesore. Property values will plummet…Everyone’s.

The road surfaces in Hood County are the worst I’ve ever seen…or HEARD! I have a fairly nice car and it’s SO LOUD inside, I can’t hear the radio and the phone option won’t work due to the background road noise.Read the rest

Granbury has the worst litter bugs there is! Never have I seen so much trash along the roads. Beautiful homes & businesses, but our ditches are full of trash.

In regards to the President, it is so astonishing that it took this long for the majority of Americans to finally see what many of us knew from day one.

Jeers to the punks in the big trucks who speed through and drive recklessly in the parking lots of businesses on Pirate and Industrial after school kicking up rocks to hit the cars parked there.Read the rest

Jeers go out to people that park in handicap spaces and sit behind the drivers wheel after dropping off a person at the front door of a business. There are other handicapped people that need that space.

Cheers to the Granbury SWAT Team for voluntarily joining the Brawner Intermediate students in their third annual Scarecrow Scamper Run-a-Thon. Together they ran more than 7000 laps.Read the rest

Jeers to the jerk at the church garage sale taking peoples wallets, I hope you bought a child diapers with my money because that’s what I was going to do.

Jeers to GISD for once again failing to give hourly employees an increase in pay for enough to cover the rising cost of their health insurance. These individuals work hard to provide clean and safe facilities for all students.Read the rest

CHEERS to the several people that took the time to drive to our garage sale to support and console the little 9 y/o girl that was verbally attacked at another garage sale by the older woman. You all made a difference by showing her that the rudeness of one is not acceptable behavior. God Bless you all.

Drivers need to be reminded – where cars are parked in a parking lot (as opposed to curb parking) the pedestrian has the right of way.Read the rest

Cheers to the Freshman Pirates and their coaches! Way to play!

If the sound-off last week wasn’t someone’s joke concerning the news alert about the missing 15 yr old NOT being of consequence to them and wanting to be removed from the system, then he or she must be a me, me, me entitled-feeling person and doesn’t see much beyond their own nose.Read the rest

Is it just me, or does anyone else notice the lake level fluctuating up, at night, then back down by early morning? Also, anybody living down on the river notice this? It sure isn’t staying above the dam.

Jeers to the fans in the stands at the Tolar football games! It’s very sad that hardly even one person will stand up and cheer with the cheerleaders or even when the football players try to get them into the game.Read the rest

Jeers to the person that tied a puppy to a street lamp pole in my neighborhood.

Everyone puts signs out but they never come back to pick up. There are graduation signs and it is Sept. Garage sales, auctions, you name it. Looks junky. Start fining.

We are being eaten alive by mosquitoes. Is anyone noticing?
