Cheers to the BRA who has saved me, at last count $2,400 this summer, that I would have spent on gas, supplies, boat dock fees and general entertainment. Also a big cheer goes to the people of Granbury that are willing to step up and pay more property taxes so that the former “lake front” owners can have reduced taxes.
Cheers to the Granbury business on 377 that state prices lower than Lake Granbury to bring attention to the low lake levels.… Read the rest
Jeers Granbury City Council and Hood County Commissioners for wasting our money! The lake has very little to do with most of us in Hood County. This lake was intended to be a place to store water for USE during dry conditions. This lake is not your play toy.
So the County big wigs get a pay raise, huh? What about those of us behind the scenes who do the real work and keep the offices going, the bathrooms clean, the roads maintained?… Read the rest
I don’t have “a pizza a month.” I also don’t vote for elected officials who spend our tax money like they had a printing press. Eighty-five million dollars can be, and should be, cut in by two thirds and still give the kids what they need. They didn’t need artificial turf on the football field but that money is already ashes.… Read the rest
What is wrong with people around here? I go to the grocery store and see horrible attitudes everywhere – nothing but complaints. I go to the library and see belligerent people speaking horribly to the librarians. I’ve come to the realization that people need to be accountable for their own life’s issues and not take it out on everyone else.
Cheers to the mowers!… Read the rest
Oh Dear! Now some of you want to elect your own Brazos River board members. Do you suppose the potential candidates will measure to the “quality” and “substance” of those we now have as Commissioners and Councilmen? Lord help us!
CHEERS to the woman who bought our sandwich. We were having a rough day and your generosity ended it perfectly. God Bless You.… Read the rest
The weekly fishing report was relevant for all the years that Lake Granbury had water. Now it only rubs salt in our wounds since our boat has been stranded in its slip for a year. And the reports on other lakes just take the few remaining Lake Granbury fishermen to other places.

The longest, newest and most open part of the loop and the speed limit is only 45? Especially with only 2 signs on the whole thing.
Thank you Hood County News for page 10B in the July 3 issue. A beautiful tribute to Sergeant Lance McLean.
Jeers to the person commenting on the him/her that put their house up for sale in Hood County.… Read the rest
Jeers to the people walking their 4 legged family members on hot streets in 90 degree plus temperatures.
Note to new city tourism leader: Lake Granbury is your cake and everything else is just the icing. So no cake, no party.
We really enjoyed the beautiful fireworks display on July 4th and so did the little boy sitting nearby. He yelled, “Firework people, I love you!” … Read the rest
I enjoyed the presentation of 1776 in the historic courthouse. If the benches on the second floor are historically correct, I can understand why the justice dispensed there was swiftly administered.
The roadside trash in Granbury is a disgrace.
It is sad to hear that Sgt. McLean lost his battle after being shot Friday. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family and to officer Davis, Granbury PD, Hood Co.… Read the rest
Can anyone out there defend this President, his actions, inactions, or those of his administration?
Jeers to the Tax Appraisal Appellate Board. It appears that Hood County’s need for more revenue is greater than the “Unbiased” Panel of Three to do the right thing.
Cheers to Dave Moore for his article “Heartbreaking for all.” Parents and teens must be responsible and held accountable for their decisions concerning substance abuse and underage drinking.… Read the rest
