The North Central Texas Pioneers might not have won the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Six-Man Division II District 2 football title, but you can’t tell it by looking at the all-district honors.
The Pioneers (7-5) had the league’s offensive MVP in junior running back Tyler Hoskins and the defensive MVP in senior linebacker Elias Demissie.

The North Central Texas Pioneers improved to 3-2 and ran their winning streak to three games with a pair of victories recently.
First, they defeated Dallas Tyler Street 62-52, followed by a 62-43 win over Westlake Academy.
Stefan Rosic led NCTA in scoring in each game, bucketing 36 in both.

In a game described by coach Jodie Stevens as “two totally different halves,” the North Central Texas Lady Pioneers ended a four-game losing streak with a 37-34 win at Westlake Academy Monday.

The North Central Texas Academy Pioneers collected their first basketball victory of the season Tuesday, running past visiting Waxahachie Prep 71-40.
Stefan Rosic led the Pioneers, almost matching Waxahachie point-for-point. He finished with 36 points.
Marvin Ivanovic added 12 points.
NCTA (1-2) jumped out to a 28-8 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.

The North Central Texas Academy Lady Pioneers improved to 4-1 with a 76-23 win over Cleburne Christian.
Carolina Bianchi (34) and Esther Udonsi (30) combined for 64 points and 42 rebounds (Bianchi 24, Udonsi 18). In addition, Udonis had nine assists.
“These two act like they’ve been playing ball together for years,” said first-year NCTA coach Jodie Stevens. “They have amazing chemistry despite the fact they’ve only played together for a month.”

The North Central Texas Academy Pioneers continued their turnaround from a slow start, opening the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Six-Man Division II playoffs with a 54-8 thumping of Longview Trinity Friday in Rockwall.
The game was called in the third quarter because of six-man football’s 45-point mercy rule.

The North Central Texas Academy Pioneers blasted Brownwood Victory Life 56-6 Friday to secure its TAPPS Six-Man Division II postseason spot.
The Pioneers, who will enter the postseason on a four-game winning streak, scored in a variety of ways against Victory Life (4-6). Tyler Hoskins led the offense, rushing 10 times for 143 yards and three touchdowns.

The Cornerstone Crusaders (9-2) failed to advance in the postseason for the first time in their short varsity football history, falling 73-66 at home to Willow Park Trinity (8-3) in the first round of the Texas Christian Athletic Fellowship playoffs Friday night.

The North Central Texas boys were fourth and the girls sixth at the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Class A State Cross Country Meet.
The Pioneers scored 102 points. Amarillo Ascension won with the low score of 23.
The Lady Pioneers scored 120, while Ascension also had the low score among the girls with 26.
Cale Dodson was the top finisher among the NCTA boys, finishing 15th with a time of 19 minutes, 45.4 seconds over the 3.1-mile course.… Read the rest
The Cornerstone Crusaders won the first district championship in their three-year history of varsity football Friday, defeating Fort Worth Nazarene 61-49 at home.
The victory improved the Crusaders to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in Texas Christian Athletic Fellowship Six-Man District 4. It’s the most victories in their history, eclipsing the 8-4 record two years ago.
Cornerstone was 6-6 last season, advancing to the second round in the Texas Christian Athletic League in each of its first two seasons.… Read the rest
