The victory set up a showdown between the Crusaders (5-4, 2-0 in Texas Christian Athletic League Division II District 1) and defending state champion Stephenville Faith (8-0, 2-0). The Pioneers (7-1) were originally supposed to play Wichita Falls Christ Academy, but that team canceled its season, so a last-minute replacement had to be found.

Last season the Cornerstone Crusaders only lost four games all season, reaching the second round of the Texas Christian Athletic League playoffs and finishing 8-4.
They entered Friday’s homecoming game against Fort Worth Christian Life Prep having dropped three straight.

The Cornerstone Crusaders and Cleburne Christian combined for 166 points Friday as Cleburne came away with an 89-77 victory.
Cornerstone (2-3) was done in largely by the one quarter in which defense somewhat prevailed. Cleburne (4-1) outscored them 14-6 in the third.
