Two of 29 horses rescued have had to be put down

Hood County Sheriff’s Office Captain A.T. Vines, Animal Control supervisor, reported late Thursday afternoon that two of the 29 malnourished horses that were rescued from a ranch in southeastern Hood County on Feb. 11 have had to be put down because of their poor health. The remaining 27 horses are still under the care of veterinarians in various locations, Vines said.
