Trial of ‘Baby Riley’ parents includes their recorded interviews

The ongoing trial of Justin Lee Alston and his wife, Brittany N. Oliphant-Alston on a first-degree felony charge of injury to a child involving their son Riley on Thursday (Nov. 1) will feature the closing arguments by the prosectuor, District Attorney Rob Christian, and the two defense attorneys, Pamela Walker and Cole Bryant. After that, the jury will be asked to decide the fate of the couple who were arrested last December after Riley was discovered weighing only nine pounds at eight months of age while living in their home in the Sandy Beach subdivision. Wednesday’s highlights included Investigator Robert Young of the D.A.’s Office heard on a CD as he interviewed the parents before they were arrested. The parents could be sentenced up to 99 years to life in prison if found guilty.
