Suspect killed during SWAT’s response to Erath County

A man whose identity is unknown was shot dead by SWAT team members during a May 8 incident in which he barricaded himself in a vacant house near Dublin after fleeing a Cisco police officer and DPS troopers following a traffic stop in which illegal drugs were found, according to Lieutenant Johnny Rose of the Hood County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle’s passenger, Jason Karl Groneman, 35, of Nevada, is charged with four felonies – possession of marijuana, more than 50 pounds/less than 2,000 pounds; two counts of possession of a controlled substance; and evading arrest with a vehicle. Groneman is in the Eastland County Jail with bonds totaling $65,000.
