The rain has been a quick fix for some vegetation, but not so much for the lakes, Bob Rose told members of the Granbury Chamber of Commerce last Friday at the monthly luncheon at Pecan Plantation Country Club. Rose is chief meteorologist with the Lower Colorado River Authority. “Hydrologically, we are not making up any ground,” Rose said of the 1-2 inch rains received in May, June and July. “We need successive rain events to create the runoff to fill our lakes,” Rose stated. “Instead, we have large gaps between the rains.”
