State, defense rest in Milwicz capital murder trial

Court was adjourned at about 4 p.m. Wednesday by Judge Ralph Walton in 355th Judicial District Court after the state and the defense rested in the capital murder trial of Kimberly Danielle Milwicz, 24. She is one of three indicted in the Jan. 2012 shooting death of T.J.’s Private Club and Cafe manager Gene Sabin. The jury heard parts of an audio recording of a Texas Ranger interviewing Milwicz after she was located by law enforcement officers in New Mexico on Jan. 18, 2012, one day after Sabin’s death. The trial is set to resume at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, with closing statements from the attorneys yet to come.
