Bed and Breakfast owner Tom Baker, a regular attendee at meetings of the Granbury City Council, reported to the Hood County News via email on Saturday (Jan. 4) that he had been to visit Rickie Pratt at a Fort Worth hospital and that the mayor “really does look good for what he’s been thru.” Pratt, who suffered a severe stroke on Dec. 27, is making witty comments at times, the B&B owner said. Baker’s wife, Sara, said that plans are in the works for a “community yard sale” to benefit the Pratt family. The event likely will be held between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at Celebration Hall on the square. The public will be invited to donate items for the sale. The Hood County News will publish details about the planned fundraiser as they become available. It is not yet known whether Pratt will be able to serve out the remainder of his term. The mayor’s position will be on the ballot in November.
