County Commissioners have approved a request by Sheriff Roger Deeds to spend up to $20,000 to purchase 20 new ballistic vests for constables and 14 of his deputies. “This is something we definitely need to protect our guys out there,” Deeds told members of the Commissioners Court during their regular meeting. He said that it is recommended that the vests be replaced every five years.
