Sheriff: Caution, accidents piling up on slick roadways of Hood County

Use extreme caution driving this morning (Tuesday, Jan. 15) because of sleet that has fallen on the roadways of Hood County. Sheriff Roger Deeds said that as of about 7:50 a.m., there had been about seven accidents reported, including one on Weatherford Highway (FM 51) on the lake bridge, with two injuries. He said some of the worst spots include Rock Crusher Hill on Highway 377 East, plus 377 west of Tolar, and Hill City Highway also in the Tolar area. The lake bridge on Weatherford Highway is temporarily closed while that crash is being cleared, Deeds said.
