Some Hood County residents who commute into Fort Worth to work should be pleased to know that a 10-mile section of I-35 in Fort Worth – part of which was the second-most congested road in the state in a recent TxDOT study – is expected to be under construction for expansion by midway through 2013, officials announced recently. The stretch between I-30 and U.S. 287 was environmentally cleared this year by the Federal Highway Administration. Pre-construction work on Segment 3B north of I-820 is under way. A financial public hearing for Segment 3A is tentatively planned for this fall.
