Ribbon-cutting canceled for Loop extension, but road will still open

The ribbon cutting ceremony that had been planned for Tuesday(July 2) to open the Loop 567 extension has been cancelled – presumably because many local officials will be attending funeral services in Hico Tuesday morning for slain Deputy Lance McLean. In a brief email, Natalie Galindo, public information officer for the Fort Worth District of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), said that the ceremony is cancelled, but that the extension will open on Tuesday “once the signals are set up and running.” The extension connects Highway 51 (Weatherford Highway) with East Pearl Street/Business 377.
