Parker County warns of ‘several’ rabies cases

January 27, 2013

Animal Control officials in Parker County, on Hood County’s north border, issued a public service announcement Thursday stating they have encountered “several positive rabies cases,” and “There have been 10 skunks which tested positive for rabies and at least one dog case has been discovered in the county since the beginning of the year.” Captain J.T. Vines, Hood County Animal Control supervisor, said this is the time of year rabies cases usually increase, but he has not received word of an unusually large number of positive cases so far in Hood County.
