Official: Cresson shooting Friday after accident was intentional

The 62-year-old Granbury man who suffered a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head Friday on Highway 377 in Cresson fired the gun at himself intentionally, according to witnesses, Hood County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Johnny Rose stated Monday. The man’s car struck a Dodge pickup near a fast-food restaurant, and while a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office deputy was speaking to the occupants in the pickup, the man fired the weapon. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:40 p.m.
