Officers have two suspects in custody in Spanish Trail area

Emergency scanner traffic indicated at about 7:15 a.m. today, officers took a male suspect into custody near a residence in the 1300 block of Spanish Trail Drive after a search that involved Granbury police, Sheriff’s Office deputies and a DPS helicopter following a 911 call at about 4 a.m. Deputy Chief Alan Hines of the Granbury Police Department has confirmed that, in addition, a female was taken into custody and no other suspects are at large. Scanner traffic indicated that suspects apparently had attempted to steal a vehicle, and shots had been fired at officers at one point after they arrived in the area. School buses headed into the vicinity of the Heritage Heights, Comanche Cove and Spanish Trail Drive areas in the Misty Meadows subdivision have been given the go-ahead to resume their normal routes. There have been no reports of anyone being injured by gunfire, although an ambulance was called because of a leg injury the male suspect apparently sustained. Sheriff Roger Deeds just reported that officers are currently working three separate crime scenes.
