NWS issues Red Flag Warning; fire marshal recommends delaying controlled burns

Hood County and many others in the region will be under a Red Flag Warning from noon today to 8 p.m. for strong winds and low humidity, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth. Strong winds are expected behind an incoming cold front. Winds of 20 to 30 mph with higher gusts can be expected. Hood County Fire Marshal Brian Fine recommends that anyone thinking about starting a controlled burn hold off until Thursday or Friday, and to call his office before doing so, at 817-579-3335. Winds are expected over 20 mph again on Wednesday.
