County Judge Darrell Cockerham reports that traffic was backed up “for three miles” Wednesday morning (Jan. 23) at the Cresson intersection because the arms were down at the railroad crossing, even though no train was coming. Cockerham said that he, Precinct 4 Commissioner Steve Berry and TxDOT representatives from the Stephenville office went to the scene. A Hood County deputy, Cockerham said, did what railroad reps didn’t do: He lifted the arms and directed traffic through.
