Meth trial sends man to prison; woman jailed for contempt of court

Timothy Lee Seaver, 41, of Stephenville, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for a Oct. 19 conviction on a third-degree felony count of possession of methamphetamine in Granbury, but he wasn’t the only one put behind bars as a result of the trial in 355th Judicial District Court, according to Hood County District Attorney Rob Christian. A friend of Seaver from Stephenville, Brandie Michelle Sams, 37, was testifying on his behalf but refused to answer a question while under oath and was found in contempt of court by Judge Ralph Walton. Sams was sentenced to six months in the Somervell County Jail, where Hood County’s female inmates are housed. She also was fined $500.
