Mansfield man arrested, accused of striking girlfriend

James Howard Taylor, 43, of Mansfield, is charged with a third-degree felony count of family violence assault, with previous convictions, in connection with a July 29 incident at a residence in the Oak Trail Shores subdivision in which he struck his girlfriend in the head with his fist, according to Lieutenant Johnny Rose of the Hood County Sheriff’s Office. Taylor had been in the Johnson County jail on an unrelated charge, but was transferred to the Hood County Jail on Tuesday.
