Luton honored with Yellow Rose of Texas Award from governor’s office

Marilyn Luton was recently honored with the Yellow Rose of Texas Award. The award, given through the Office of the Governor, recognizes outstanding Texas women for their “significant contributions to their communities and to Texas in the preservation of our history, the accomplishments of our present and the building of our future.” Luton chairs the Tornado Relief Finance Committee that created a structured system to manage money donated to victims of the tornado last May. She also led the efforts to have seven modular homes donated from the Department of Defense and moved from Fort Hood to Hood County to provide new homes for seven families whose homes were destroyed.
