Local artist, art teacher Cynthia Body dead following accident

Cynthia Olmsted Body, 63, of the Laguna Tres subdivision north of Granbury, was pronounced dead Tuesday (Jan. 15) after the 2005 Ford sport utility vehicle she was driving southbound on the lake bridge on Weatherford Highway in Granbury was struck head-on by a northbound 2001 Dodge SUV driven by Rogelio Gonzalez, 44, also a Hood County resident, Deputy Chief Alan Hines of the Granbury Police Department said. The accident occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, and there were no other occupants in either vehicle. Gonzalez was first transported to Lake Granbury Medical Center, but was transferred to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth later Tuesday morning listed in stable condition, according to an LGMC spokesperson. Details for Body’s funeral arrangements are pending at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.
