Lake drops to record low

It’s a new low for Lake Granbury. She’s down 7.3 feet. With continued drought conditions, high water usage and evaporation during the hot summertime, the lake is expected to be 9.8 feet low by Aug. 31. At that point, the Brazos River Authority notes Granbury will be only 54 percent full. Monday’s lake elevation at 685.40 mean sea level beats the previously low readings in July 1971 when the lake was at 685.53 elevation, and in September 2011 when the lake was at 685.83 elevation. The lake is full at 692.7.
