Granbury’s fourth annual Bow Wow Trick or Treat is set for Sunday, Oct. 28, from noon to 5 p.m., just off the square in front of City Hall on Bridge Street, with assistance from the Hood County Animal Lovers Association (HALO). The annual Harvest Moon Festival is also that weekend, Oct. 27-28. Bow Wow Trick or Treat is an event in which dog owners dress up their dogs in Halloween costumes and go to businesses around the square collecting “treats.” Registration will also be Oct. 28, starting at noon, in front of City Hall. Cost for trick or treating is $5 per dog, with additional charges for contests and vendor-related services. All proceeds go to help displaced animals of Hood County. There will be a pooch parade with costume contests, a talent contest, look-alike contest, pet portraits, pet adoptions, a vaccination clinic and police working dog demonstrations. There will be trophies and prizes for contest winners. To pre-register, or for more information, visit Jeweler’s Workshop, 115 W. Bridge St., Stuff-N-Nonsense, 113 W. Bridge St., or the Granbury Chamber of Commerce, 3408 Highway 377 East.
