Jury gives Milwicz life sentence for Sabin’s murder

Kimberly Milwicz, 24, late Friday morning was sentenced to life in prison by a jury in 355th Judicial District Court. Thursday afternoon she was found guilty of murder in the 2012 shooting death of Gene Sabin, a 63-year-old Rolling Hills Shores resident killed by a single gunshot to the neck inside the business he managed, T.J.’s Private Club & Cafe, near Oak Trail Shores. Milwicz had been indicted along with two men on a capital murder charge for her part in the crime, which included a robbery of cash and checks. Her conviction on the lesser charge and the life sentence means she could be eligible for parole after serving 30 years in prison. She was also assessed a $10,000 fine.
