Jury delivers 12-year sentence in aggravated assault

February 19, 2013

Justin Davis Johnson, 39, of Lavon, who on Friday afternoon was convicted of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, was sentenced to 12 years in prison on the first count and six years on the second count Tuesday afternoon in 355th Judicial District Court. He could be eligible for parole after serving six years. The charge resulted from a Dec. 29, 2011, shooting at a hunting lease near Tolar that left Dallas-area resident Ryan Armstrong, now 40, paralyzed from the waist down.
